AHMP Introduces Knowledge Center Online

The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals™ (AHMP), formerly the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, has launched its new Knowledge Center, a centralized education-and-resource center for all levels of industry professionals.

The Knowledge Center offers more than 300 educational, continuing education and informational courses online that will fit the needs of every environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) professional with responsibility for hazardous materials.

Specifically, the center provides these resources:

  • AHMP Online Course Library—A comprehensive online library of hazardous materials management courses for all professionals—regardless of experience.
  • AHMP Webinars—Affordable, periodic online seminars are focused on a timely EHS&S topic and are archived in the Webinar Library.
  • AHMP's Online Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management Course—This training and refresher course can help you prepare for the CHMM exam, earn recertification credit and also is a great cross-training tool for established hazardous materials professionals.
"The AHMP Knowledge Center offers it all—from initial training designed for those new to hazardous materials management to those professionals who are long-established in the EHS&S industry," said AHMP Executive Director A. Cedric Calhoun, CAE. "By launching this education-centric area, AHMP becomes the one-stop resource for meeting all the educational, informational and continuing education needs of hazardous materials professionals.

Eighty-five percent of AHMP Knowledge Center courses are eligible for continuing education credits upon successful completion from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management and can be submitted to other EHS&S credentialing bodies for possible recertification credit.

AHMP is an international membership organization that fosters the professional development of its members through educational programs, peer group interaction and recognition of the Certified Hazardous Materials Managers® (CHMM®) credential and other industry credentials as standards of excellence in the environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) industry. AHMP is comprised of more than 50 chapters in 37 states and more than 4,000 hazardous materials professionals throughout the world.
