Leak Detection Co. Sponsors Seminar Series

American Leak Detection of Palm Springs, Calif., a provider of non-invasive water and other leak detection services, is sponsoring the "Transboundary Environmental Management Seminars," a series by the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies.

The seminars will take place on Sept. 9 at University of California-Los Angeles Law School; Sept. 10 at the University of Utah Law School in Salt Lake City; Sept. 11 at Denver University; and, Sept. 12 at Colorado University in Boulder. The seminars are open to the public at no cost.

"The Arava Institute is the premier environmental teaching and research program in the Middle East, preparing future Arab and Jewish leaders to cooperatively solve the region's environmental challenges," says David Weisberg, executive director of the institute. "When it comes to clean air and clean water, nature knows no borders."

The Arava Institute allows Jewish, Arab, and other students to study and live together for an extended period of time enabling future cooperative work on environmental and other issues in the Middle East and beyond.

"We're proud to support the Arava Institute's efforts to address these environmental issues on a transboundary basis," says Stan Berenbaum, chief executive officer of American Leak Detection. "It's not only important in terms of protecting the environment, but hopefully it can serve as a catalyst in bringing peace to a region historically marked by conflict."

The seminars will bring together a team of environmental management professionals from Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority, who will discuss their work on cooperative water management and other environmental issues, presenting real world success stories from the Middle East. They also will discuss how the transboundary environmental protection model can be applied in other regions facing water scarcity, including the seminar host locations.
