Ground Water Summit to Explore Challenges in Uncertain Times

The summit, hosted by the National Ground Water Association, is scheduled for May 1-5.

The 2011 NGWA Ground Water Summit and Ground Water Protection Council Spring Meeting will take place May 1-5 in Baltimore, Md., in part to explore the theme, “Meeting Groundwater Challenges in Uncertain Times.”

The summit is held annually by the National Ground Water Association and is designed to bring together federal and state regulators, practitioners, natural resource managers, policymakers, municipal planners, remediation site owners, attorneys, climatologists, and those who supply knowledge and technology needed to address and influence key water issues.

This year's invited keynote speaker is EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, while the featured speaker is Martin Storksdieck, Ph.D., The National Academies, on the subject, "Selling Sound Science: Kindergartner to Policymaker."

The summit encompasses conference sessions, workshops, field trips and short courses.
