WaterSense Honors Four Partners for Water-Saving Efforts

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Cascade Water Alliance, Moen Incorporated, Lowe’s® Companies, Inc., and Judy Benson as the 2010 WaterSense® Partners of the Year. Along with more than 2,000 other WaterSense partners, these four partners in particular have helped promote water efficiency and the WaterSense label to help save precious resources for future generations.

Cascade Water Alliance in King County, Wash., collaborated with local plumbers and retailers to help provide 3,000 rebates on WaterSense labeled toilets. It also launched a WaterSense Road Show to educate residents about WaterSense.

Plumbing manufacturer Moen earned the WaterSense label for all of its bathroom faucet products in 2009, and conducted extensive national media outreach.

Lowe’s earned Retailer Partner of the Year for the second straight year by continuing to stock and train employees on WaterSense labeled products. Lowe’s introduced the “Build Your Savings” campaign to help consumers find products that help save resources and dollars.

Judy Benson, president of Clear Water Products & Services Inc., helped central Florida residents and businesses save water with more efficient irrigation technologies and techniques. Benson created a display of irrigation products to show clients how to properly operate equipment for maximum savings.

The 2010 WaterSense Partners of the Year, along with Excellence Award winners — partners recognized for achievement in a specific award evaluation category — were honored at an awards banquet in Las Vegas, Nev., cosponsored by the Alliance for Water Efficiency.
