Italian Group Buys Enviro-Care
"This acquisition was a very logical move for WAM and provides them with immediate entry into the North American headworks market," said Phil Thompson, president of Enviro-Care.
Rockford, Ill.-based Enviro-Care Company announced it has been acquired by the WAMGROUP®. Headquartered in Modena, Italy, WAM is a multinational company that entered the conveying market in 1969 before expanding into all facets of bulk solids handling equipment. Today, its conveyors are used in many water and wastewater projects. In 2013, WAMGROUP's growing interest in the environmental sector led to the purchase of SAVI S.r.l, located in Mantua, Italy.
Several years ago, SAVI selected Enviro-Care as its sales and engineering partner to introduce SAVI's headworks equipment into the North American market. In 2012, they made a technology transfer agreement that allowed Enviro-Care to manufacture SAVI equipment in the United States.
Enviro-Care has been a provider of custom-engineered screening and
grit/solids handling equipment to the North American municipal water and
wastewater market since 1972. "This acquisition was a very logical move for WAM and provides them with immediate entry into the North American headworks market," said Phil Thompson, president of Enviro-Care. "Our excellent rep force, combined with the SAVI product line and WAM's manufacturing expertise, will make us an even stronger player in this market. We are very excited about the future potential. The WAMGROUP will enable us to move forward aggressively with new products for new applications."
