Northeast Utilities Chooses Enviance Software for Managing Emissions

New England’s largest utility to implement Environmental ERP solution to comply with regulations and corporate sustainability programs.

Northeast Utilities has selected Enviance’s cloud-based environmental management software to measure and report data on all compliance areas including greenhouse gas inventory and air emissions, waste, water usage, polychlorinated biphenyl tagging and tracking, and lab sampling data.

The utility operates New England’s largest energy delivery system serving more than 2 million electric and natural gas customers in Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The company selected Enviance to identify and address environmental impacts from services and operations across 15 facilities and to enhance its compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

“Having a robust environmental management system is a key operational component of Northeast Utilities’ sustainable business model,” said Sri Madhusudhan, director of environment management at Northeast Utilities. “Enviance’s cloud-based Environmental ERP system will allow us to centralize our compliance goals to better anticipate and meet growing environmental performance expectations, mitigate risks and introduce new efficiencies into our business.”
