McCrometer Program Supports ARRA Buy American Requirement

McCrometer of Hemet, Calif., on Nov. 2 announced its Flow Meter Priority Purchase Program designed to help state and municipal water and waste treatment plants, agencies or districts meet the Buy American provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 as the federal government deadline of Feb. 17, 2010, draws nearer for water projects to be under contract or construction.

“We recognize the importance of ARRA funded water treatment projects to states and municipalities across the country. To help our customers comply with ARRA funding requirements, we’ve set up a special ARRA Priority Purchase Program to expedite the ordering of flow meters,” said Kerry McCall, president of McCrometer.

Customers with ARRA projects can call McCrometer and ask for a Customer Service ARRA Specialist. The company’s team of water industry specialists will be available to help with questions about applications, ordering and delivery schedules. A list of McCrometer products that meet ARRA’s Buy American provisions has been posted on the Web site.

The company’s Ultra Mag®, Marsh Single-Mag™, Marsh Multi-Mag™, Water Specialties Propeller Meter™, Mc® Propeller Meter, V-Cone® and V2 System™ flow meters all meet ARRA’s Buy American requirements.

ARRA, also referred to as the federal economic stimulus package, was enacted by the U.S. Congress to stimulate the American economy in the wake of the economic downturn of recent years. A portion of the ARRA funds were allocated to investment in American infrastructure, including wastewater and drinking water infrastructure.

Part of ARRA’s “Buy American” clause stipulates that all of the manufactured goods used in a public works project funded by the act have been produced in the United States. McCrometer operates two large engineering, manufacturing and testing facilities in Hemet and Porterville, Calif.
