Schneider Electric Unveils SE City

The Schneider Electric North American Operating Division announced the launch of SE City, a Web-based program designed to help engineers, system integrators, contractors, OEMs, maintenance and operational staff better understand the breadth of Schneider Electric’s solutions within any industry and any application.

The wastewater portion of SE City was unveiled at the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition tradeshow last month by the Schneider Electric Water Wastewater Competency Center. The wastewater, health care, material handling and soon-to-be-completed convenience store/car wash areas of the city are now live. Other portions of SE City will include residential, water, hotel and entertainment, OEM machine, and transportation.

Each area graphically shows the relevant solutions, provides text describing the solution and gives users a link to the technical data on that solution. The wastewater treatment facility portion of the virtual city features a plant overview with links to headworks, blowers, UV, control room, biosolids and other areas.

"With an offering as broad as ours, we needed a tool to help users better understand what solutions are available to a given industry,” said Patrick Casseday, Schneider Electric North American training development manager. “SE City easily identifies the optimum solutions and provides a link to the appropriate Web site for additional details.”

“We are very excited about this new tool,” said Grant Van Hemert of the Schneider Electric Water Wastewater Competency Center. “This tool will help engineers, systems integrators, contractors, water process OEMs and utility personnel further understand Schneider Electric’s vast solutions offering. We also envision this portal as a tool for students who want to understand how electrical equipment interfaces to the process.”
