Shortages, Efficiency Topics for Upcoming AWWA Events
On April 8, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) will host the "Water Shortages: Finding a Solution" Webcast.
The Webcast focus will be om water reuse, aquifer storage and recovery, and how low inflow protocol strategies can help a utility during a water shortage.
Presenters include Maeneen Klein, Conservation Program manager, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities; Fred Bloetscher, assistant professor of Civil Engineering, Florida Atlantic University; and Larry Schimmoller, Global Technology leader, Water Reuse at CH2M Hill.

On May 6-7, AWWA will host the "Water Demand and Conservation Management: Planning, Policy and Rates" seminar in Orlando, Fla. This seminar will explore state-of-the-art water efficiency measures, practical tools, planning and implementation strategies, as well as rate and policy issues that help develop or manage conservation programs more effectively.
With finite water resources, increasing demands and operating costs as paramount issues for many utilities, maximizing the efficiency of the water supply already developed is a sound, cost-effective utility management practice.
Seminar presenters include Lloyd Hathcock, director of Program Development, Niagara Conservation Corp.; and Paul Lander, executive director, Colorado WaterWise Council.
