Seccua, Hydranautics to Jointly Develop New Markets
Seccua GmbH, a provider of drinking water membranes, and Nitto Denko/Hydranautics, a provider of ultrafiltration, microfiltration, and reverse osmosis technologies, have signed a cooperative agreement to jointly develop new markets.
Based in Oceanside, Calif., Hydranautics produced and distributed modules for large-scale projects in the ultrafiltration market. This new partnership opens the door to a dominant position in small-scale installations. Seccua will share its knowledge in the field of standardized ultrafiltration small-scale installations with Hydranautics and supply the company with ultrafiltration modules for the small-scale market segment. The global distribution network of Hydranautics opens up completely new markets for Seccua.

"The residential, small municipal, and light industrial markets with their recurring revenues are an attractive future market segment for us."

Seccua GmbH, based near Munich, Germany, and Surprise, Ariz., said it is the world technology leader in the field of standardized ultrafiltration systems that remove all known pathogens from drinking water. The company's small-scale systems were originally developed by Hank in conjunction with a partner from the United States and first went into operation there in 1998. Over 400 of the systems are now already in operation, including in the dining cars of the latest generation of high-speed, inter-city trains in Europe.
General manager of Seccua Americas LLC is Dan Wyckoff, who has over 30 years of experience in the water treatment industry, including pioneering work in the establishment of ultrafiltration as an accepted
treatment technology for residential and commercial applications.
Hydranautics was founded in 1963 and entered into the reverse osmosis water treatment field in 1970. In 1987, Hydranautics became part of Nitto Denko, a multi-billion dollar corporation headquartered in Osaka, Japan. With nearly 400 employees Hydranautics is headquartered in Oceanside, Calif., with sales and technical services offices around the world. Hydranautics manufactures reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration membrane products for water treatment applications worldwide. Membranes are either spiral or capillary configuration and available in a variety of diameters and lengths to meet a wide range of applications.
