ASTM Opens Advantage Competition

ASTM International, a standards developing organization, is accepting papers for the 2009 ASTM Advantage Award, a paper competition with prizes up to $15,000.

The organization seeks original papers that demonstrate the positive impact of ASTM International standards and provide background information and data showing such values as cost savings, efficiency, market access, etc. The deadline for submissions is June 1.

The cash prizes are $15,000 for the first prize, $10,000 for the second prize, and $5,000 for the third prize. Winning papers will be published in ASTM International's bimonthly magazine, Standardization News.

ASTM International standards are the technical underpinnings of global commerce and have broad reach in today's competitive business environment. Currently there are 12,000 ASTM International standards and ASTM members come from more than 125 nations.
