MACTEC Names Thomas Alaska Office Manager
Sean P. Thomas, a registered environmental scientist, has been appointed MACTEC's Alaska office manager, according to a Jan. 5 press release. J. Allen Kibler, Jr., president of MCTEC Engineering and Consulting made the announcement.
Thomas, based in the firm’s Anchorage office, has been with MACTEC since 2007. Prior to this position, he was the Alaska Environmental Planning and Permitting Business Unit leader and operations manager.
“Sean brings to his new position a proven project management track record,” said Kibler. “His leadership skills have also enabled him to coordinate complex projects and numerous permitting efforts with a wide variety of stakeholders, including state and federal regulatory agency officials and village representatives throughout Alaska.”
Thomas has recently diversified the company’s services and bolstered its Alaska capabilities through numerous strategic hires and partnerships. The Alaska operation has provided civil, geotechnical, water/wastewater, solid waste and environmental engineering services, coupled with geosciences, environmental permitting, planning and National Environmental Policy Act services at more than 200 locations statewide to local, state, federal, and private clients.
Thomas also is a project manager and principal scientist and is directly responsible for the on-time quality delivery of multiple projects with revenues exceeding $3 million.
