Neven Kresic Joins MACTEC
Neven Kresic, P.G., P.H., C.G.W.P., has been named senior principal hydrogeologist at MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc., according to an Oct. 30 press release. He is based in the firm's Atlanta office.
Kresic has more than 25 years of consulting, research, and teaching experience in projects and issues related to groundwater and surface water. He has managed projects for federal, state, and local agencies, and industries such as water; transportation and power utilities; and oil, petrochemical, chemical, and construction companies in the United States, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. His areas of expertise include groundwater engineering, development and remediation, groundwater modeling, karst and fractured rock hydrogeology, water resources planning, and expert witness testimony.
Besides his consulting experience, Kresic has written several books, including his latest, Groundwater Resources: Sustainability, Management and Restoration, published by McGraw-Hill.
Kresic is a founding member of the Ground Water Modeling Interest Group sponsored by the National Ground Water Association and an active member of the Karst Commission of the International Association of Hydrogeologists. He serves as vice president for International Affairs of the American Institute of Hydrology, and vice chair of the Groundwater Management and Remediation Specialty Group of the International Water Association.
Kresic holds a doctorate in geology/hydrogeology, a master's in hydrogeology, and a bachelor's in hydrogeologic engineering, all from the University of Belgrade.
