Former South Coast Air Agency Prosecutor Joins Firm

Peter C. Mieras, former chief prosecutor at the South Coast Air Quality Management District has joined Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro LLP as Of Counsel in the Government, Land Use, Environment and Energy Department in the firm's Los Angeles office.

Mieras is experienced in all phases of regulatory enforcement and air quality permitting. As a member of the California Air Pollution Control Officers Association, he served on the Attorneys' Committee, working closely with executive officers and district counsel from most of the air districts in California on permitting and enforcement issues, legislative matters, and intergovernmental relations with the California Air Resources Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, providing him with strong federal and state-wide experience. He is knowledgeable in the policy formation process for emission trading programs, technology advancement, emission reduction credits, and leading-edge climate change issues.

The firm's Government, Land Use, Environment & Energy Department comprises 23 attorneys who handle all permitting and compliance issues for clients seeking to locate and develop new sites, relocate, or expand operations.
