Spectrum Wins Two Product Awards

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers has given Spectrum Technologies Inc. of Plainfield, Ill., two AE50 awards for its WatchDog Sprayer Station and new SpecMaps Web Mapping Utility Software.

The sprayer station helps control pesticide drift by monitoring wind speed/direction, temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. The company has added a display console that shows wind speed and potential drift while the device logs weather data. The software assists is monitoring soil moisture and compaction levels throughout golf courses, landscapes, and growing acreage.

The award recognizes the top 50 innovative new products for agricultural, food, and biological systems. The winning products are expected to save producers times, costs, and labor while improving user safety.
