Former Hill Staffer Joins Governors' Group

The National Governors Association (NGA) named Michele Cady Nellenbach director of its Natural Resources Committee. The committee works on agriculture, energy, environment and natural resource issues to ensure governors’ views and priorities are represented in the shaping of federal policies and regulations.

Nellenbach most recently served as senior professional staff on the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Previously, Nellenbach was a senior legislative assistant to U.S. Rep. Nancy Johnson managing a portfolio of environmental and agricultural issues. Throughout her career, Nellenbach has helped to develop proactive solutions to environmental issues.    

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut. She also received a master's of the arts in political science from American University.
