Great Lakes States Receive Grant for Pollution Prevention
The EPA will be awarding $1 million to help combat pollution in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The EPA will be giving approximately $1 million through a competitive grant program to the Great Lake States: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The funds will be used on projects that will reduce the environmental impacts of businesses by energy and water conservation, hazardous waste reduction, as well as other techniques.
“The technical assistance provided by these grants will help businesses find opportunities to reduce or prevent pollution through cost-effective changes in production, operation and raw materials use,” said Margaret M. Guerriero, director of the regional EPA’s Land and Chemicals Division.
The EPA will be holding a webinar on March 22 to better inform those on pollution prevention.
