AWWA Webcast to Discuss 'Green' Practices

Water and wastewater professionals will learn how to adopt cost-saving, energy-efficient practices within their facilities at the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) Webcast, "Environmental Values in the Water Industry," at 1 p.m. ET on Nov. 5.

Awareness of the environmental challenges facing the world has grown and water industry professionals understand the important role they have in encouraging "green" practices. The Webcast will cover how utilities can lower their operating budgets and help the environment by incorporating energy efficient methods.

Experts in the water industry will provide in-depth detail as to how they're utilizing green practices, such as delivering water via wind power and assessing their potential carbon footprint.

Presenters include Rob Taylor, energy manager, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission; Teresa Daniell, interim general manager, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission; Justin Strutt, a technical director with Black & Veatch Corp.; and Bart Miller, water program director, Western Resources Advocates.
