Michigan's Air Quality Monitoring Document Available for Public Comment

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality released the annual ambient air quality monitoring Network Review document for public comment, officials announced on July 25. The Network Review is the principle tool used by staff of the DEQ's Air Quality Division to plan ambient air quality monitoring activities.

The Network Review is the result of EPA's revisions to the ambient air monitoring rules in October 2006. It interprets past air monitoring data using federal regulations to determine which air pollutants will be measured at what site locations during the upcoming year and beyond.

?The 2007 Network Review document is available at http://www.michigan.gov/deqair. Public comment will be accepted until Aug. 17. Feedback received by the DEQ will be reviewed with respect to ambient air monitoring activities to be carried out in 2008.
