PolyCera® Wins Contract for Offshore Produced Water Treatment with CNOOC

PolyCera® will deliver 10 produced water treatment units to CNOOC offshore platforms, using its Titan ultrafiltration membranes and resin adsorption technology to meet discharge standards and support sustainable oil and gas production.

PolyCera®, a brand of PSP.US, Inc., has been selected to supply 10 produced water treatment units for offshore platforms operated by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation. The systems, which range in capacity from 100 to 1,000 tons per day, will support safer and more sustainable oil and gas production in the East China Sea.

The award follows a 26-month pilot program where PolyCera’s Titan ultrafiltration membranes consistently removed suspended solids and oil under challenging offshore conditions. Paired with resin adsorption, the technology achieved oil content levels below 40 mg/L and recovery rates of up to 98 percent, meeting discharge standards.

PolyCera said the new units will use the same process design, which avoids chemical dosing during normal operation, minimizes waste, and eliminates hazardous cleaning agents. CEO Jianbo Wen said the contract “confirms the robustness of our Titan membranes and the reliability of our integrated solution for offshore produced water treatment.”

The compact units, ranging from 30 to 90 square meters in footprint, are designed to maintain stable performance even as influent water quality fluctuates, setting what the company calls a new benchmark for offshore produced water management.
