Federal regulators announced they will prioritize the review of new chemicals used in the construction of data centers and the manufacturing of their components. The effort begins with submissions made on or after Sept. 29, 2025, and is designed to reduce delays that have slowed technology infrastructure projects.
Companies submitting new chemicals through the Central Data Exchange will be able to flag their applications as related to data center projects or component production. By doing so, their requests will move to the front of the review line.
Officials said the move is intended to accelerate the build-out of U.S. data centers, which are essential to artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other advanced technologies. The prioritization is also part of a broader push to strengthen the nation’s leadership in technology infrastructure.
