EPA Announces Recipients of Pollution Prevention Grant
A combined total of $9 million will be given to over 30 recipients.

Yesterday, the EPA announced the recipients of pollution prevention (P2) grants.
In total, $9 million will be distributed to 32 recipients across 27 states and Washington D.C. According to a news release, the funding from the grants will “allow states and Tribes to provide businesses with technical assistance to prevent or reduce pollution before it is even created, while also reducing costs.”
This follows the announcement of other recipients of P2 grants in September.
“For more than 30 years, EPA’s P2 grants have helped businesses implement best practices to reduce dangerous pollution in communities, including those that are overburdened and vulnerable,” said EPA Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention Deputy Assistant Administrator for Pollution Prevention Jennie Romer in the news release. “Preventing pollution before it starts is an important step in our work to deliver on President Biden’s ambitious environmental agenda, tackle the climate crisis and advance environmental justice.”
Among the states and Tribes receiving the grants are also colleges and universities. To read a full list of the recipients, visit EPA.gov.
