Coca Cola is Helping Green the World

The Coca-Cola Foundation awarded more than 27 Sustainability Initiatives grant in the U.S. in 2012 and is already preparing for a “Greener” 2013.

By awarding sustainable grants, The Coca-Cola Foundation has helped support recycling, water and energy conservation initiatives, and to reduce the environmental footprint of organizations across the country. Here a just a few examples of what these grants have done:

In Massachusetts, Save the Harbor/Save the Bay received $25,000 from Coca-Cola, which allowed more than 10,000 young people received environmental education. In Utah, the Bonneville Environmental Foundation got a $250,000 grant to help with watershed conservation efforts on the East Fork Bear River.

“One of the priorities of The Coca-Cola Foundation is to help create vibrant, sustainable communities across the country,” said Sonya Soutus, senior VP, Public Affairs & Communications, Coca-Cola North America Group. “By working with local organizations that promote environmental stewardship, we are helping to build sustainable communities for generations to come.”

Coca-Cola Facilities are also helping support Earth Day within their local communities in Columbus, Ohio; Colorado and the Colorado State University; Chicago, Illinois; and Houston, Texas.
