Vermont Schools Agency Selects Ergonomic Receptacles

N.S. Industrial & Design's Revolution 360™ series receptacles eliminate bag liner overlap, according to the company.

N.S. Industrial & Design's line of ergonomic waste and recycling receptacles has been selected by the Vermont School Boards Insurance Trust for use and demonstration purposes in its new office facility and training center, the company announced.

"I am going to promote these units to Schools and Businesses as a proactive risk management tool to reduce insurance costs and promote safe lifting practices," said Lyall Smith, physical plant consultant for VSBIT said.

The trust has been servicing Vermont school districts for more than 25 years by providing cost-effective risk management programs to assist member schools in protecting and conserving educational resources.

The Milton Town School District in Vermont already has the ergonomic receptacles in service. "The custodians that empty them say they are much less work to empty and very easy to keep clean, as the inside of the units are completely accessible," reported a custodian for Milton Town district.

More than 2.3 million people were employed in the U.S. janitorial industry in 2010, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and janitors are ranked second in incidence rates of injuries and illnesses, with 48.5 percent of musculoskeletal disorders associated with the back.

N.S. Industrial & Design is located in St. Cloud, Minn. The company designs and manufactures ergonomic products that promote safe waste management practices. To watch a video showing the function of the receptacle, visit www.nsindustrialdesign.com.
