MVR's New Facility to Make Plastic from Recycled Material
MVR, a manufacturer of high performance sustainable plastic resins, last week dedicated its new 90-million-pound-per-year recycled plastic resin manufacturing facility in Frankfort, Ky.
“We are pleased to call The Commonwealth of Kentucky and the City of Frankfort the newest home to our world-class manufacturing operations,” said Ronald Whaley, president and chief executive officer of MVR. “We have been blown away by the outpouring of support we’ve received on all levels, from economic funding to the community’s response to our employment opportunities, and we look forward to growing each one of those relationships in the many years to come.”
“Kentucky is proud to welcome MVR, an environmentally friendly company, to its capital city,” said Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear. “The creation of 360 new jobs and a more than $9.2 million investment will provide a significant boost to the economy, opening up hundreds of employment opportunities for the community."
“MVR has already begun its contribution to the Frankfort community in bringing hundreds of green jobs and we all look forward to seeing the trucks lined up to take sustainable resins made in our city to product manufacturers around the nation,” Frankfort Mayor Gippy Graham added.
MVR makes sustainable plastic resins: the carbon footprint of an MVR resin is 70 percent less than that of a virgin resin, helping businesses create high-quality green products that are attractive to consumers.
