H2O4Texas Focuses on State Water Plan

Robert Glennon, author of Unquenchable: America's Water Crisis and What to Do About will keynote H2O4TEXAS: The Water Event, which is scheduled for Nov. 16-17 at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth.

Last month, Glennon spoke at a Black & Veatch-sponsored roundtable at WEFTEC in Orlando, Fla.

According to the event press release, The Water Event will increase public awareness of the critical water shortfalls facing Texas and begin mobilizing support for full implementation of the State Water Plan - a goal that the ongoing H2O4TEXAS campaign will continue to pursue before and after the event.

Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst will provide an overview of the Texas State Water Plan and subsequent legislation, focusing on the importance of implementing the plan as it relates to the state's health, economy, and growth. Also speaking will be G. Tracy Mehan of The Cadmus Group, Ben Grumbles of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Richard Bozek of Edison Electric Utility and Jim Oliver, general manager of Tarrant Regional Water District.

The event is being sponsored by The Texas Water Foundation with special support from the Texas Section American Water Works Association.
