AWWA Webcast Covers Pipeline Disinfection

As America’s water infrastructure ages, many water professionals must consider new maintenance and disinfection methods to keep their pipelines and storage facilities safe and reliable.

In response to high demand for information in these areas, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) will offer a Webcast at 1 p.m. EST on Feb. 11. Titled “Advanced Disinfection of Pipelines and Storage Facilities,” the Webcast will cover AWWA Standards, ozone as an alternative process for pipeline disinfection, and much more. Presentations will benefit utility operators, disinfection contractors, manufacturers, and public health agency professionals.

Webcast presenters include:

  • Betsy Reilley, Ph.D.: senior program manager of Water Quality Assurance at Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, where she has worked for 11 years.
  • Christopher R. Schulz, P.E., BCEE., vice president at Camp Dresser & McKee Inc., with 25 years experience in planning and design of drinking water treatment systems.
  • Paul Mattausch: director of the Collier County Water Department since 1998.
