Grumbles Says Farewell

Benjamin H. Grumbles, EPA's 13th and longest serving assistant administrator for Water, made the following statement about his resignation, effective Jan. 20:

"Thanks to everyone for the great environmental results, collaboration, and friendship over the last five years. Together, we have worked hard with our many partners to keep America's waters clean, safe, and secure and increase global awareness of our planet's most precious liquid asset.

"While we have made important progress, current and emerging challenges remain, but I am confident we have a stronger foundation and a broader set of tools for environmental success. I wish nothing but the best for the 14th assistant administrator. Water is life. Water is love."
