AECOM Wins $149-M Port Project in Doha, Qatar
AECOM Technology Corp., a provider of professional technical and management support services, announced Nov. 11 that it has been awarded a six-year, $149.3 million contract to provide program management services to the New Doha Port project in Qatar.
Undertaken by the government of Qatar, the US$7-billion construction value port project is currently the world's largest "greenfield" port-development project. The project is intended to better position Qatar to benefit from the expected regional growth in container and vehicle carrier traffic as well as general cargo traffic.
Experts from AECOM's industry-leading global transportation and program management practices will be joined by the company's local design experts on this new port facility project. With more than 3,000 employees serving clients in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar, AECOM is one of the largest design and program management firms in the Middle East.
