ACHMM Recognizes Georgia Chapter
The Academy of Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM) presents an Honor Roll of Champions Award to the Georgia Chapter of ACHMM during its 2008 annual conference held recently in Minneapolis, Minn.
This is the second consecutive year the Georgia Chapter has been recognized nationally for its commitment to environmental stewardship in industry.
The award recognizes the chapter's outstanding contributions toward increasing member involvement and generating industry and public awareness of the hazardous materials management profession as well as the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHM1vI) credential. Only six chapters nationwide were bestowed the award this year.
"ACHMM's Honor Roll of Champions Award is a tribute to the best of the best -- those local chapters that go above and beyond their normal scope of responsibilities to advance the hazardous materials management profession", said ACHMM President Michael J. Mandracchia, CHMM. "The Georgia Chapter's remarkable work clearly shows that it is a true champion of its members, ACHMM's mission, and the CHMM credential."
In addition to this award, five members of the Georgia Chapter received individual Champions of Excellence Awards. They are Keith Cole of Environ International, Jeff Rothwell of Greenleaf Environmental Services, Tara McCullen of Wenck Associates, Michael Verdon of AECOM, and David Wheeler of Greenleaf Environmental Services.
ACHMM is made up of more than 65 chapters in 37 states and India, and more than 4,000 credentialed hazardous materials managers worldwide.
