HDR Acquires Archer Engineers

HDR, an architecture-engineering-consulting firm, has acquired E. T. Archer Corp., known as Archer Engineers, an engineering-project management firm headquartered in Lee's Summit, Mo., according to a Sept. 3 press release.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Going forward, Archer Engineers will conduct business as HDR | Archer.

"Archer Engineers is a well respected presence in the Kansas and Missouri markets," said George Little, P.E., the acquisition company's president. "Archer will strengthen HDR's presence in these markets. We are very pleased to have them on board and look forward to the additional expertise they will bring to the HDR family, particularly in the water/wastewater engineering arenas."

Under the new corporate structure, Stan Christopher, P.E., president and chief executive officer of Archer, will be a senior vice president and will direct HDR's water business practice in Kansas and Missouri. Michael Kalis, P.E., will be a vice president and water section manager for these areas.
