Brownfields Proposal Deadlines Are Near

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7 Brownfields program is now accepting proposals for assessment, cleanup, revolving loan fund, and job training projects for 2009 in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.

According to the Sept. 3 press release, the deadline to submit proposals to EPA for Brownfields job training projects is Oct. 15. Assessment, cleanup, and revolving loan fund project proposals must be submitted by Nov. 14.

The 2009 Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup, Revolving Loan Fund and Job Training Guidelines can be found at http://www.epa.gov/brownfields/.

Additionally, EPA Region 7 will sponsor two free teleconferences and two free one-day workshops to present information and address questions about the assessment, cleanup, and revolving loan fund guidelines only.

Teleconferences are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sept. 24 and Oct. 21.

The first workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 25, at the Carl T. Curtis Midwest Regional Headquarters of the National Parks Service, 601 Riverfront Drive, in Omaha, Neb. A second workshop is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 29, at EPA Region 7 headquarters, 901 N. 5th Street, in Kansas City, Kan.
