UC Course Covers Regulations, Management
The University of California, Irvine Extension is offering a course in the Certificate Program in Environmental Management titled, "Clean Water Program Regulations and Management."
Participants will learn how to describe federal, state, and local laws; discuss water quality issues; manage urban stormwater runoff and pollution prevention; and implement urban runoff best management practices applicable to residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal activities.
The course will be offered from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 6 through Dec. 8 (Mondays) at the UCI Learning Center in Orange, Calif.
The instructor is Mo Lahsaie, Ph.D., a clean water coordinator with the city of Oceanside and previous environmental scientist in the Watershed Protection Branch of CAL-EPA Regional Water Quality Control Board in San Diego.
Lahsaie has more than 12 years experience in directing investigations and remediation of contaminated sites, managing cases with underground storage tanks and release of petroleum solvents, pesticides, heavy metals and hazardous wastes.
