Veolia Names President of Hazardous Waste Division

Veolia ES Technical Solutions, LLC, the hazardous waste division of Veolia Environmental Services, recently appointed Jim Bell president and chief executive officer. He previously served as vice president, East Region Operations.

Bell replaced Philippe Martin, who was appointed vice president, Innovation and Technology for Veolia Environnement, based in Paris.

"Philippe Martin has been a great asset and resource to the Technical Solutions group, having joined us in 1996 from our parent company Veolia Environnement. We are fortunate, however, to have a key individual to promote from within the organization," said Michel Gourvennec, chief executive officer of Veolia Environmental Services North America. "Jim Bell has been with us for the past 23 years. This experience, coupled with a profound understanding of our culture and a wealth of strategic insights, will serve him well in his new role as president and CEO."

Bell will be responsible for the overall operations of the second largest hazardous waste services company in North America. "My overriding objective is to continue the exceptional growth of the Technical Solutions business by building upon improvements in the quality of our people, safety in the workplace, and efficiencies in facilities and services, including expanding our recycling and reclaim capabilities."

Bell joined Veolia in 1986 in the Regulatory Affairs Department. He served for five years as the general manager of the New Jersey Branch. He is a graduate of Villanova University with a degree in chemical engineering.

. Martin returns home to France where he will lead the research efforts of Veolia worldwide.
