New Award to Honor Furnishings Innovator

The American Home Furnishings Alliance has created the Sage Award to recognize excellence in the home furnishings industry through sustainable business practices, social responsibility, and profitable growth.

To be sponsored by Cargill's BiOH™ polyols, the Sage Award will honor its first recipient at the group's Sustainability Summit on Nov. 13, 2008, in Greensboro, N.C.

"Our award is intended to seek out, discover, and recognize true industry innovators from whom all of us can learn," stated Andy Counts, alliance chief executive officer.

The award will recognize a manufacturer or designer of finished home furnishings products or a retailer in the home furnishings industry. Nominees must demonstrate leadership in reducing the industry's environmental footprint and expanding its positive social impact while running a profitable business.

Nominations may be submitted between June 1 and Sept. 5. For information, visit www.ahfa.us or www.bioh.com after June 1.

Cargill is an international provider of food, agricultural and risk management products and services. Its BiOH brand polyols were the first commercially successful bio-based industrial polyols used in flexible foams. The alliance represents more than 400 manufacturers and suppliers in the home furnishings industry.
