EPA Announces Video Contest to Spread Awareness of Electric Transportation

The campaign will recognize the top three submissions in three different categories.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched a video competition titled "My Electric Ride: An EV Transportation Video Challenge," with winners receiving up to $3,000.

According to a release dated Oct. 27, the contest invites the public to share short 1- to 2-minute personal videos of their real-world experiences with electric transportation. The EPA aims to educate the community about the sustainable benefits of electric transportation.

Contestants can submit entries in three distinct categories. The first, Personal Mobility, includes electric two- and three-wheel devices, such as e-bikes, e-scooters, e-trikes and e-cargo bikes. The second, Electric Vehicles, encompasses electric cars, trucks and SUVs. And the third, Electric Buses, covers electric transit options like school buses, shuttle buses and public transit buses.

Each category will recognize three videos, awarding them first, second and third place based on criteria such as creativity, originality and aptitude in highlighting the benefits of electric transport. Selected videos may be featured on the EPA's website and social media platforms.

Full contest details and submission guidelines are available on the EV Transportation Video Challenge webpage. The deadline for submitting entries is Jan. 23, 2024.
