CDP and UL EHSS Announce Alliance

Their strategic alliance will develop UL EHSS' new sector-based reporting platform as part of the "Reimagining disclosure" initiative. The new platform will help ensure more comprehensive reporting for companies, investors, and cities.

CDP, a London-based driver of global environmental disclosure, announced on April 6 a strategic alliance with UL EHS Sustainability to develop its new sector-based reporting platform as part of its "Reimagining disclosure" initiative. The new platform will help ensure more comprehensive reporting for companies, investors, and cities for enhanced peer-to peer comparison and decision-making and, with the global demand for more accurate and faster disclosure, the fully integrated PURE™ software system will enable disclosers to assess more clearly how they are transitioning to a low-carbon economy, according to the two companies.

"Companies, investors, and cities are increasingly recognizing the need for global disclosure across climate, water, and forests. It is our mission at CDP to drive the transition to a well below 2-degree world," said Paul Simpson, CDP's CEO. "For that to happen, disclosure needs to be efficient and provide the highest-quality sector-based data. This will enable disclosers to answer with confidence how they are responding to a low-carbon economy, benchmark against their peers, and drive innovation. We are pleased to announce our collaboration with UL to help us drive forward our mission for global disclosure with a platform that will work for companies, cities, and investors."

"We're proud to partner with CDP, the premier global disclosure platform, on their 'Reimagining disclosure' strategy," said Mark Ward, general manager of UL EHS Sustainability. "All over the world, our software solutions help ensure the accurate capture, management, and reporting of the sustainability and EHS information needed to enhance performance and drive operational excellence across all business areas. In our alliance with CDP, we will be able to help ensure the disclosure platform is valuable and relevant in assessing and comparing environmental performance both now and in the future."
