Agency Gathering Input on Chesapeake Bay Stormwater Rules
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold five listening sessions and one webcast on potential Chesapeake Bay watershed-related requirements in the national stormwater rule to strengthen the regulations and establish a program to reduce the impact of stormwater discharges from new development and redevelopment.
As part of the listening sessions, EPA will also address environmental justice considerations and potential impacts that may arise as a consequence of the Chesapeake Bay watershed provisions under consideration in the new rulemaking.
The sessions will be held:
From 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 for the listening session and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the environmental justice discussion at Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore 20 West Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 28 for the listening session and from 2 to 4 p.m. for the environmental justice discussion at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay 100 Heron Blvd. Cambridge, MD 21613.
From 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 4 for the environmental justice discussion and 1 to 4 p.m. for the listening session at EPA HQ Office, EPA East Building, 1201 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, D.C., 20004.
From 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 9 for the listening session and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the environmental justice discussion at Omni Richmond Hotel 100 South 12th St., Richmond, VA 23219.
From 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 17 for the listening session and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the environmental justice discussion at Forum Building, 5th & Walnut Harrisburg, PA.
The webcast will be from 1 to 4 p.m. EST on Nov. 16. Visit www.epa.gov/npdes/stormwater/rulemaking to register to participate.
The public can register by going to the website below. EPA will also accept written comments on the potential rule until 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.
