WEF Opens Registration for WEFTEC 2010

Registration and housing is now open for WEFTEC 2010, the Water Environment Federation’s 83rd annual technical exhibition and conference, which will be held Oct. 2-6 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

This year’s technical program will feature 112 sessions, 35 workshops and six local facility tours. A wide range of topics and focus areas allow attendees to design their own, learning experience while earning up to 35 contact hours for continuing education units and 9 professional development hours.

As a complement to the technical program, WEFTEC’s exhibition will provide access to more than 900 exhibiting companies and the latest developments, research, regulations, solutions, and cutting-edge technologies in the field.

Other conference highlights include Steven Solomon, economics journalist and author of the best-selling book, Water: The Epic Struggle for Wealth, Power, and Civilization, speaking at the Opening General Session. The Students & Young Professionals will construct a bioswale as a community service project in one of the neighborhoods still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
