Hydro's Vortex Valves Now in Bentley Modeling Software
Hydro International, a provider of environmentally sustainable products and innovative solutions that control and treat stormwater, wastewater and combined sewer overflows, said its Reg-U-Flo® Vortex Valves are modeled into the new version of Bentley Systems’ PondPack® detention pond design and urban hydrology modeling software.
Bentley provides comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains the world.
PondPack software allows engineers to analyze, design, manage and plan detention pond projects. The latest version, PondPack V8i, was released this past summer.
Hydro’s Reg-U-Flo Vortex Valve is a self-activating device that uses vortex principles to control and attenuate stormwater flow and other liquid streams without the need for moving parts or external power requirements.
In previous versions of the software, engineers were able to model flow control applications using orifice plates and other conventional flow controls. With V8i engineers now have an expanded flow-control modeling capability that includes the Hydro vortex valves’ performance.
“PondPack has proven itself as a standard bearer in the field of detention pond analysis and design,” said Lisa Glennon, product manager for Hydro’s Stormwater Business. “We’re thrilled that engineers will be able to utilize the Reg-U-Flo tools in the PondPack software package to determine the right flow control options for each individual project.”
“We pride ourselves on providing the most comprehensive detention pond analysis software available,” said Malcolm Sharkey, Bentley product manager for stormwater products. “We’re confident engineers will find solid value in the new features we have added from Hydro International and other highly respected stormwater systems providers.”
