Clean Burn Becomes Energy Star Partner

Clean Burn of Leola, Pa., has become an Energy Star partner. During testing, the company's CB-200-CTB (coil tube boiler), met program guidelines for boilers and has now earned the Energy Star designation.

"Everything we do at Clean Burn is focused on energy," according to Michael Shirk, president and chief executive officer. "Qualifying for the Energy Star designation is another visual sign that Clean Burn products are ideally suited for use in safely and efficiently disposing of used motor oil."

The coil tube boiler can recycle 1.4 gallons of used motor oil per hour and provides a free fuel source to generate hot water. That water can be used in a wide variety of applications, such as ice melt, heating of baseboards, in-floor and shop space, or in car wash facilities.

"Our products are already backed by Underwriters Laboratories and meet all Environmental Protection Agency requirements for used-oil recycling," Shirk said. "We're proud to now add the Energy Star designation to our CB-200-CTB."

There are 80,000 Clean Burn functional furnaces and boilers throughout the world that burn approximately 120 million gallons of used-oil each year onsite.
