Severn Trent Signs Contract with Yorkshire Water

Severn Trent Services of Chesterfield, U.K., announced on May 23 that it has a new five-year contract to supply Ajusta bayonet boundary boxes to Yorkshire Water Services.

The water manger will purchase medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) tailed and push-fit connector versions.

Severn Trent Services is a UK supplier of external boundary boxes to accept water meters. The company manufactures 220,000 boundary boxes each year and have 2 million boxes installed in the UK alone. Eighty-five percent of the boundary box components are fabricated at Chesterfield.

Yorkshire Water Services manages the collection, treatment, and distribution of water, supplying around 1.24 billion liters of drinking water each day. The company also collects, treats, and safely disposes about 1 billion liters of wastewater each day. Yorkshire Water Services operates more than 700 water and sewage treatment works and 120 reservoirs through a grid system. The company also operates 40,000 miles of water and sewerage mains.

Severn Trent Services, with global headquarters in Fort Washington, Pa., offers products for disinfection, instrumentation, and filtration, and performs contract operating services and state-of-the-art residential metering products and services.
