Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
Thermo Fisher’s iCAP 6200 spectrometer is a dual-view ICP instrument designed for environmental and WEEE/RoHS analytical testing environments. The product features a purge gas distribution system, an RF generator, a charge injection device, and an enhanced matrix tolerance torch design that reduces plasma gas consumption.
MIDAC’s Titan-OL systems provide real-time, multi-component extractive gas phase analysis for on-line and continuous multi-point analysis. These systems include a rugged industrial FTIR spectrometer system, gas cell(s), sample manifold, valve control electronics, and software. The company's fiber optic distribution electronics provide a single hub for temperature, pressure, mass flow, external alarm, and optical switching signals and can accommodate up to four 12-port manifolds for a total of 48 sample, purge and calibration lines. The systems are fully automated with MIDAC’s AutoQuant Pro™ software package.
The Voyager portable gas chromatograph now can measure diacetyl, an artificial flavoring used in popcorn, chips, and candies to provide a buttery taste. The flavoring has been linked to the development of bronchiolitis obliterans, an irreversible lung disease. The Voyager portable gas chromatograph provides accurate, low-level measurements with results provided on-site for immediate review. The unit also has datalogging capability.
Total Phosphorus Online Analyzers Total Nitrogen
Shimadzu’s TNP-4110 Series online analyzers are capable of measuring Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus in water. Easy-to-handle and simple-to-maintain, these analyzers are capable of sampling, pre-treating, digesting, and analyzing samples automatically, saving time and labor and eliminating potential sample prep errors.
Brinkmann Instruments Inc.
Brinkmann Instruments's Metrohm ProcessLab is a fully customized, at-line automation analyzer. The unit uses micro-sample loops, overflow pipettes, pumps, valves, stirrers, and Dosinos®. Hermetical separation of electronics protects against dust and liquids. Industrial PC- and PLC-driven controllers allow for communication within a process environment. The product analyzes pH, acid value, chloride, and vitamin C. The analyzer also can be equipped with a high-speed homogenizer for the dissolution of solids as well as hot water to dissolve powders.
Online Water Quality Analyzers
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments' TNP-4110 series consists of an analyzer for measuring total organic compound, one for measuring total nitrogen, and another for simultaneously measuring both components. Offering a wide measurement range, a single unit can analyze up to seven different streams and features sample pretreatment units that incorporate a homogenizer and the optional Sample Thief, which eliminates the need for expensive filters when analyzing streams containing suspended particles. The analyzer’s multifunction injection system pretreats, digests, and analyzes samples automatically.
Milestone’s DMA-80 analyzes liquid and solid samples for trace levels of mercury in approximately five minutes without the need for sample preparation and waste disposal. The analyzer features a built-in, 40-position autosampler and low detection levels. Fully compliant with EPA 7473, the device has been validated for analysis of solid and aqueous, environmental, and biological matrices.
Thermo Electron Corp.
Thermo Electron’s DFS high-resolution gas chromatography/mass spectrometry system performs confirmation analyses of dioxins and furans in the low femtogram range. The system helps governmental, industrial, and commercial laboratories comply with the new U.S. EPA and EU directives, which call for lower detection limits for dioxins and furans in food, environmental, and biological samples. It enables rapid sample preparation and higher sample throughput. Multiple-ion detection allows scan-to-scan monitoring with precision.
Wilks Enterprise manufactures portable infrared analyzers for easy, onsite measurement of the hydrocarbon (oil/grease) contamination level in water. Using the InfracCal™ TOG/TPH analyzer, model HATR-T2 or model CVH, onsite determinations of the total hydrocarbon concentration level in wastewater can be easily and accurately determined in 10 to 15 minutes, including the extraction process. Measurement data obtained with HATR-T2 correlates to EPA Method 1664, and CVH correlates to ASTM Method D 7066-04.
