TUFF Air Sampling Pumps

Casella CEL offers its TUFF line of personal air sampling pumps that feature a sealed case with over-molding that protects it from damaging moisture, extreme temperatures, solvents, and impact. Pumps possess a flow range from 5 ml/min to 4.5 l/min, and incorporate a double-acting diaphragm mechanism with digital control. Pump operation is guided by an intuitive user interface displaying real-time flow, sampled volume with run duration, a simple battery "fuel gauge" and alarm for flow or battery fault conditions. Typical run times of more than 30 hours (depending on media and flow rate) and meet applicable NIOSH and EN requirements.

          Catalytic Products International Inc.'s VANGUARD Ammonia Abatement System is custom-manufactured as one modular package that features a combined catalytic oxidizer and NOx reduction system. The system can be economically applied with many industrial and chemical processes that exhaust ammonia and organic compounds where NOx emissions are of concern and are designed to remove ammonia (and ammonia derivatives) from either a liquid waste stream or from a vapor exhaust.             Pneumatic Compactor

            Air Cycle’s Smash-It pneumatic compactor is powered by compressed air and compacts waste into 55-gallon drums or cubic yard boxes. It produces up to 6,000 lbs. of crushing force, allowing facilities to compact waste to up to 20 percent of its original size. To operate, users place a 55-gallon drum or cubic yard box full of waste on the compactor’s platform. The operator stands next to the machine and places both hands on the OSHA-approved start buttons.

              Air Monitoring System

              The MIDAC open path FTIR Air Monitoring System detects, identifies and measures a wide range of key contaminants simultaneously. Analysis is onsite through a continuous sampling path of up to 1,000 meters. Each system includes an interferometer equipped with a choice of beamsplitters and detectors. The analyzer is coupled to a control PC via standard ribbon cable or long-range fiber optic link. For extended sample paths, the system can be mounted to a rugged, 10-inch Newtonian telescope with tripod.

                Intelligent Fan System

                The patent-pending Strobic Air Smart Fan maintains safe ventilation levels while minimizing facility energy costs and carbon footprint. The fan, which uses a combination of sensors and controls to determine the flow required for safe operation, continually adjusts fan speed to produce optimal flow. In multi-fan applications, fans will automatically turn on or off as required. Additionally, the product can sense a fan failure and turn on a “stand by” fan to maintain safe exhaust operations.

                  Super Air Knife

                  EXAIR’s PVDF Super Air Knife provides a laminar curtain of air that can be used to blow off, clean and dry materials in highly corrosive environments not suitable for stainless steel. It is ideal for use in the manufacturing of solar cells, lithium ion batteries, semiconductors, medical devices and processes that include electroplating, transfer of acids, caustic chemicals, brine, and solvent recovery. The product consists of PVDF, Hastelloy C-276 alloy screws, and a PTFE shim to adjust the airstream.

                      Catalytic Oxidizer

                      Anguil’s Catalytic Oxidizer destroys volatile organic compounds through the oxidation process. The catalyst oxidizes hydrocarbons to carbon dioxide and water vapor at lower temperatures than thermal oxidizers. The unit is designed based on volume of airflow, organic vapor concentrations and desired destruction efficiency. As volatile organic compound-laden air passes through the system’s catalyst, an exothermic reaction takes place. The product’s heat exchanger is designed to minimize the system’s fuel consumption.

                        Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer

                        The Anguil Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer is designed to eliminate air pollutants, volatile organic compounds and odorous emissions that are discharged in industrial process exhausts. The system achieves emission destruction through the process of catalytic oxidation, which converts pollutants to carbon dioxide and water vapor. The unit’s poppet valves alternate the airflow direction into media, in order to maximize energy recovery within the oxidizer and reduce auxiliary fuel requirements.

                          Thermal Recuperative Oxidizer

                          The Anguil Thermal Oxidizer eliminates volatile organic compounds by the process of combustion. Air is preheated through the tube side of the heat exchanger and then passes through the burner, where the contaminated air is raised to 1,200 to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. When the air is raised to the thermal oxidation temperature for the specified residence time, an exothermic reaction takes place.

                            Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer

                            The Anguil Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer destroys air toxins and volatile organic compounds that are emitted in industrial process exhausts. The product recycles released energy and converts volatile organic compounds to carbon dioxide and water vapor. The unit’s flow valve directs gas into an energy recovery chamber, which preheats the process stream. Volatile organic compounds are then oxidized across the catalyst, releasing energy in the second stoneware bed. PLC-based electronics automatically control all aspects of the system’s operation.

                              Particle-into-liquid Sampler

                              Metrohm’s 850 IC system and particle-into-liquid sampler tests air pollution by providing quasi-continuous measurements of inorganic compounds in ambient air. The system removes gas-phase compounds, and the remaining aerosol particles are dissolved to water via a supersaturated steam phase. The liquid sample is then transferred to the IC system for analysis. The unit provides a high temporal resolution of measurements, allowing users to record changes in the ionic composition of ambient air.
