Water System Shut Down at Mount Spokane State Park
The state parks agency is advising visitors to bring their own water when coming to the park until the water system has been declared safe for use. Vault and portable toilets are available.
Washington authorities announced Aug. 16 that the water system at Mount Spokane State Park has been shut down until further notice. The water, which comes from a well located near the Bald Knob campground, tested positive for coliform bacteria the week of Aug. 7 during monthly testing required by the Washington State Department of Health.
The state parks agency is advising visitors to bring their own water when coming to the park until the water system has been declared safe for use. Vault and portable toilets are available.
"Public health and safety is of tremendous importance to Washington State Parks. We are working with the Department of Health to investigate and resolve the problem," it advised.
