Participate in the Kansas City Chiefs Recycling Drive
In an effort to help launch their new sustainability program, the Kansas City Chiefs partnered with the EPA to hold a community-wide recycling drive at Arrowhead Stadium on April 20.
Extra Yard for the Environment is the new sustainability initiative for the Kansas City Chiefs and has been designed to help create green policies and environmental awareness for green efforts at Arrowhead Stadium, for their fans, and for the University of Kansas Hospital and Training Complex. A recycling drive has been created by the Chiefs and the EPA to launch their new program and will be held at the Arrowhead Stadium on April 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Becoming a more environmentally-conscious organization has been and continues to be a long-term goal for us,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. “We want to be a positive example for recycling and sustainability efforts in the community. The Extra Yard for the Environment program and this recycling drive ensure that we are well on our way to having a positive environmental impact in Kansas City and throughout the region. We want to thank all the organizations involved for their recycling efforts and for helping make this event possible.”
Recycling is free of charge, and residents are encouraged to bring any items they wish to have recycled, except electronics. On April 22, which is also Earth Day, the Chiefs and the EPA will be helping with a one-stop recycling effort for metro-area residents.
