IDE Awarded Desalination Company of the Year by GWI
IDE Technologies has won the "Desalination Company of the Year" Global Water Intelligence award, bestowed annually by the water industry, upon the desalination plant supplier that has "made the greatest overall contribution to the desalination industry during 2010."
GWI cited IDE for its "unique competitive position in the global desalination arena during 2010, winning a significant portion of the Chinese desalination business and competing strongly for tenders in the Americas, Southern Europe and elsewhere in Asia." GWI also mentioned IDE's "stunning project wins" at Sorek, Israel, Tianjin, China and Chennai, India, all while commissioning its 127M m3/year Hadera, Israel SWRO plant. The UK-based GWI also cited the company's "complete mastery of both membrane and thermal desalination, and its nearly 50 years of commitment to innovation."
GWI also nominated and short-listed IDE's MED desalination plant in Tianjin, China as its 'Desalination Plant of the Year'. The Tianjin plant, the largest in China, with a capacity of 200,000 m3/day, was built by IDE for China's State Development and Investment Corporation (SDIC).
