DOE Awards Transportation Emergency Training Contract to TRG

TRG provides training and technical support to federal, state, tribal, and local authorities to prepare to respond to a transportation incident or accidents involving DOE shipments of radiological material.

The Department of Energy awarded a contract to Technical Resources Group, Inc. (TRG), of Idaho Falls, Idaho. TRG, a small business that is also the incumbent contractor, will continue performing environmental consulting and training services for the Office of Environmental Management’s (EM) Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program (TEPP).

The new contract value is $4,034,666, with a six-month base period and options for up to five years, the renewed contract will begin April 1. Managed by the EM Office of Packaging and Transportation, TRG provides training and technical support to federal, state, tribal, and local authorities to prepare to respond to a transportation incident or accidents involving DOE shipments of radiological material.

Under TEPP, the Office of Packaging and Transportation and TRG ensure that responders have access to the plans and procedures, training, and all technical assistance necessary to prepare and respond safely, efficiently and effectively to transportation incidents or accidents.
