California Contracts with Andersen Environmental for Hazmat, Cleanup

The company will be working for the Real Estate Services Division of the state's Department of General Services.

The Real Estate Services Division of the State of California Department of General Services (DGS) has named Andersen Environmental its primary provider of on-call hazardous materials testing and remediation services. The company was awarded three contracts for each one of the state-identified regions, including the Northwest/Bay Area, North/Central, and Southern California areas.

The contracts, which go into effect in 2011, ask Andersen Environmental to complete the full range of hazardous materials investigation, testing, and monitoring services across the state. Services contracted for include air/water/soil testing, environmental surveys, moisture testing, oversight, and remediation services.

The contracts allot for up to $9 million in services to be rendered to the state over three years.

“We are excited to enter into this partnership with the state DGS,” said Andersen Environmental Vice President Jason Ironi, “and we look forward to providing DGS with the highest quality of service.”

For several years, the company has provided hazardous materials testing and consultation to various state agencies including the California Department of Motor Vehicles, CalTrans, and Department of Water Resources.
