Bord Na Mona Hosts Water Reuse Panel at NAHB Meeting

Moving to put the issue of practical water reuse in the spotlight of the 2010 National Association of Homebuilders Conference (NAHB), Bord na Móna Environmental Products U.S. Inc. will convene a group of industry experts to discuss "Water Efficiency, Reclamation, Reuse, and Management: Advances, Challenges, Opportunities" on May 17.

"We invite every builder who is concerned about America’s growing water shortage problem to attend this vitally important panel discussion," said Raymond Peat, director of Business Development at the company. "There is a lot that we can do today to address this issue and this panel presentation and discussion will provide a much needed overview of the challenges and the opportunities we face."

According to Peat, the value of water efficiency and the use of reclaimed water are widely recognized as a smart way to satisfy both building and landscape water use demands and also earn significant points and credits toward a variety of increasingly visible green-certified building classifications. Water reuse experts will address a variety of topics to offer an overview of this extremely important issue.

Joining Peat on the panel will be Bord na Móna Environmental Products U.S. Inc. President Shane Keaney; Albert Robert Rubin, senior environmental scientist at McKim and Creed in Raleigh, N.C.; Thomas Bruursema, general manager, Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment Unit Programs at NSF; and Mike Hoover, Ph.D., professor and Soils Extension specialist, Soil Science Department, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, North Carolina State University.
